Welcome, Laura!

laura2I am so happy to introduce our newest member of the team!  Laura Porzio will be working as our transaction coordinator!  In addition to having an eye for detail, Laura brings warmth, humor and drive!

Here’s a little more about Laura:

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Rockland County NY, which is about a half an hour from New York City.

What schools did you attend?

I went to RIT for Graphic Design, which is also where I met my husband. We are proud Alumni!

What do you love most about being in Rochester?

We moved away after we graduated from college, and then moved back the instant we had kids. Rochester is a great place to raise a family, with amazing schools, fun festivals and activities, and lots of beautiful nature to explore!

Where would we likely find you on a weekend?

If we’re not at one of the kid’s activities, you will usually find us DIY-ing things around the house, gardening, or finding a new local spot to explore! I also love art and to paint, and when I have time, I will often choose to spend it creating something.

What are some of your favorite local places?

I have so many. For restaurants, I couldn’t pick a favorite even if I tried…we are lucky to have great food in this town! As for local attractions, we love Letchworth, Grimes Glenn, the Genesee Country Museum, and the Rochester Science Museum, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg!

What is a quote/mantra you follow?

My grandfather’s signature saying was always “Work Hard, Play Hard” and I’ve always held that close to my heart. But since then I’ve heard “Work Hard, Play Hard, and Be Kind to People,” and I feel like that just about sums it up.

What do you like most about working in real estate?

I’m enjoying the fast pace, and that every day is just a little different. Truly, I love homes and architecture, so watching people find their own perfect fit is really satisfying.

What is something we would be surprised to know about you?

We love to explore, and this year the kids and I designed a waterfall challenge. Every free day we could find, we would research and then hike to a local waterfall, even scaling the ones we could safely do together. It was a great excuse to hike creek beds, find minnows and crayfish, collect beautiful stones, and take some amazing pictures!

Thanks, Laura and welcome!  I can’t wait for the rest of you to meet our newest team member!

Cheers,

Amy
